56th Street Players production, directed by Brenda Batres, Horizon High School’s Legally Blonde was a high-energy, thoroughly entertaining performance that captured the charm and comedy of the beloved musical. With vibrant performances, well-designed sets, and an engaged ensemble, the show proved to be a standout.

Jamie Greaves was excellent as Elle Woods, bringing the perfect balance of bubbly charm and determination to the role. Her light, pretty voice suited Elle’s signature ditziness while still carrying the emotional weight of her journey. Ace Hauer, as Paulette, delivered a powerhouse performance with a strong belt and a spot-on accent, making her an audience favorite. Parker Tellis commanded the stage as the cold, calculating Professor Callahan, while Trevor MacKay brought a sweet, nerdy warmth to Emmett, making for a lovable and endearing contrast.

The costumes were reminiscent of the Broadway show, adding to the authenticity of the production, and the sets were impressively designed, elevating the overall visual appeal. The ensemble was fully engaged throughout, adding energy and depth to every scene.

A highlight of the night was “There! Right There!”, with Andrew Hockersmith stealing the scene as the flamboyant Nikos Argitakos. The cast had an impressive grasp of the show’s mature comedy, delivering the humor with sharp timing and confidence beyond their years.

Overall, under Brenda Batres’s direction, the 56th Street Players’ Legally Blonde was an incredibly well-executed production, showcasing a talented young cast with strong vocals, dynamic performances, and a keen understanding of both the heart and humor of the show.
